How to play

  • Each cell is either a sun or a moon.
  • No more than two identical symbols may touch horizontally or vertically.
  • Every row and column contains an equal number of suns and moons.
  • Cells linked by “=” must match; cells linked by “×” must differ.

Each puzzle has one valid solution that can be reached by deduction alone—no guessing required.

Unlimited Tango

Play as many boards as you like—sizes grow as you win, and your best size and streak are remembered locally.

Pure logic

No coin flips needed. Use row balance, triple blocking, and the “= / ×” edges to deduce every move.

Quick tips

  • Start with rows or columns that already show two suns or moons—place the opposite symbol to avoid triples.
  • Follow the “=” and “×” clues first; they quickly force pairs of cells.
  • When a row reaches half suns, the rest must be moons (and vice versa).
  • Look for near-triples like Sun, Sun, empty—drop a moon to block a run of three.
  • Mirror logic: if a column has two moons on top, its partner column must balance with suns below.

Did you know?

  • Tango is a Binary/Takuzu-style puzzle with extra “same” and “opposite” edges.
  • Every valid Tango grid always has an even number of rows and columns so suns and moons can balance.
  • You can solve any Tango without guessing—every step follows from the rules above.

FAQ

Is this the official LinkedIn Tango?

No—this is an unofficial, unlimited version inspired by LinkedIn’s daily Tango puzzle. No account or daily limit here.

Why are there only two symbols?

Binary puzzles rely on pairs. Tango uses suns and moons so each row and column can balance exactly half and half.

Any keyboard or accessibility help?

Everything works with mouse or touch; screen readers announce cell state and the edge clues are text-based (= or ×).

What happens when I win?

You’ll auto-advance to the next level and your streak and largest board size are remembered locally.
